“So the honor is for you who believe; but for the unbelieving, The stone that the builders rejected— this One has become the cornerstone.”
1 Peter 2:7

Believers, those who have trusted in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, are honored. They have not rejected Jesus, the cornerstone that is the foundation of faith by which we are cleansed of sin and entered into a right relationship with God. The believers will not be put to shame nor be disappointed because of their faith in Jesus (verse 6), but they are honored to be a part of God’s temple. However, those who have not believed have rejected Jesus, the only foundation of faith. They will be dishonored and put to shame at the final judgment because of their disbelief.
Lord Jesus, You are the precious and valuable cornerstone on which my faith and my life rest. I am honored to be a believer and will live my life to bring glory and honor to You.
