“For what credit is there if you endure when you sin and are beaten? But when you do good and suffer, if you endure, it brings favor with God.” 1 Peter 2:20 HCSB

There is a major difference between a believer who does what is wrong and is punished and one who does what is right and is punished. When a believer does wrong, even when he endures the punishment for that wrong, he brings dishonor to the name of the Lord. However, when a believer does right and is punished for doing right, his endurance of this unjust suffering will bring honor to God. God will reward the faithful believer who is mistreated when doing good and patiently suffers injustice.

Lord Jesus, help me to do what is right and to endure the unfair treatment that sometimes results from doing what is right in Your sight. Help me be a reflection of Your grace, mercy, and love even while suffering.
