“Who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”
1 Peter 1:5
NIV

The believer has placed his faith and trust in Jesus Christ for his salvation. This salvation will be completed and revealed in the last day, the judgment day, the Second Coming of Jesus. The believer’s salvation, his inheritance, is being in the presence of God in heaven. This salvation is shielded, protected, guarded, watched over, by God’s omnipotent power. The word translated “shielded” is a military term used to describe a garrison of soldiers given the task to protect a city or a person. In the same way, by His great power, God protects the believer’s salvation, thus providing eternal security for the believer.
Lord Jesus, I am amazed at the great salvation You have provided. I find peace in knowing my salvation is secure by Your great power.
