Grace and Peace

“May grace and peace be yours in fullest measure.”
   1 Peter 1:2b NASB ©

Peter expresses the typical Christian greetings and blessing by wishing his readers grace and peace. Grace has been defined as God’s unmerited favor. The believer does not deserve God’s grace, but God gives His grace freely to those who believe. It is by God’s grace that the believer is redeemed by the blood of Jesus and is able to live each day. It is also by God’s grace that the believer has true peace. This peace is not the absence of conflict, but rather, it is the wholeness, completeness, and inner calm that brings meaning to life no matter the outward circumstances. Peter prays for the believers to be filled in abundance, overflowing with grace and peace.

Lord God, let Your grace and peace fill my life so that others would see Jesus in me. Help me today to spread Your grace, peace, joy, and love through my words and deeds.
