All three persons of the Trinity are mentioned in this verse as they work to bring salvation to the elect. God the Father foreknew the need of man. He planned and purposed to provide redemption for the chosen. God the Son provided by his shed blood the sacrifice that was needed for the cleansing and forgiveness of man’s sin. God the Spirit sanctifies the believer, setting them apart as holy vessels for God’s service. While the doctrine of the Trinity is hard to comprehend and understand, God does reveal Himself in these three ways.

Lord God, I stand amazed at who You are: God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Thank You for providing salvation for all who would trust in Your grace.
