“But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior.”

The believer’s lifestyle is to be holy and pure. Peter challenges his readers to behave in a holy manner. Their whole lifestyle, conduct, behavior, and way of life should be set apart, dedicated to God. Being a believer in Jesus Christ demands that one live as the Holy One, Jesus, would live. To be holy carries the idea of being totally dedicated to following God, of being set apart, separated from sin and evil influence, and of being wholly, complete righteous in one’s life. While the believer will never be totally separated from evil until he is in heaven, he still must pursue a holy lifestyle.
Lord Jesus, You have called me to follow You and thus to live a holy lifestyle. While I am not perfect, help me to draw closer to You and Your holy standard in the way I behave today.
