“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.” 1 John 5:4 NASB

The only way for a person to have victory over the world, the evil that pervades our culture and our human nature, is to be born of God through faith. This victory is found in a total trust and obedience in God for salvation and for daily life. While the battles of daily life continue to wage on against the believer, the believer should be encouraged because God has already won the war. The believer must battle on by continually placing his faith in God and walking in His ways. God continually and ultimately provides the victory.

Lord Jesus, help me today to walk by faith, trusting in You for victory over the evil forces of the world. You are my strength and shield.
