“The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:8 HCSB

The unloving person may know some facts about God, but he has never actually known God. The absence of love in one’s life proves that this person has no relationship with God. The reason the unloving person does not know God is that God by his very nature is love. God’s essence, His character, is love. He does not exist without love. Love is always a part of God. God is the source and origin of love. To know God is to know the love of God, and that love expresses itself through the person’s life.

Lord Jesus, many people do not truly know You or love You. Help me to tell someone today of Your great love that was demonstrated on Calvary’s cross.
