Habitually Sinning

The Upward Look

“The one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
1 John 3:8 NASB ©

The one who continually and habitually practices sin demonstrates that he is of the devil and not a child of God. This practicing of sin is not the occasional fall into sin, but is a constant lifestyle of sin. The devil and those who follow him consistently and persistently practice sin. Their character is evil. Jesus came to earth to break and demolish the power of evil. Jesus won the victory over the devil and sin when He died on Calvary’s cross taking the punishment for our sin.

Lord Jesus, I can hardly begin to express my gratitude for Your saving me from sin and death. Help me not to sin but to live righteously for Your glory.
