“But whoever keeps His word, truly in him the love of God is perfected. This is how we know we are in Him:”
1 John 2:5 HCSB ©

A disciple shows his love for God by being obedient to God’s Word. “Keep His word” means to obey all that God says. This “word” goes beyond the commandments to all of God’s revealed will and purpose for one’s life. Obedience reveals that love has matured or reached its goal. This love of God includes the disciple’s love for God and God’s love for the disciple. The love of God is ultimately shown by the disciple obeying God’s Word.

Lord Jesus, I desire to live my life in total obedience to Your Word. Fill my life this day with scripture as I learn to obey and express Your great love in my life.
