“He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world.” 1 John 2:2 HCSB

Jesus Himself took the punishment for all sin when He died on Calvary’s cross. “Propitiation” means Jesus experienced the wrath of God that we deserved because we have sinned. He was the sacrifice that covered and removed our sin. Jesus did all that was necessary for our sins to be removed making us clean in God’s sight. Everyone, no matter how sinful, can be saved from the wrath of God because of Jesus. Salvation is available to all people who place their faith and trust in Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I am amazed that You took my punishment on Calvary’s cross. Because You died for me, I can have eternal life!
