“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
1 John 1:8 NASB ©

There is no one who can truthfully say that they do not sin. Many people try to excuse their sin by placing the blame on someone or something else. Many people try to lower the bar, to change the standard by which sin is measured. They are simply fooling themselves, but they do not fool God. God has set the standard and has declared that we all are sinners. The closer we come to God’s light the more we see our sinfulness as compared to His perfection and holiness.

Lord Jesus, I have sinned and fallen well short of what You demand of me. Help me to learn how to live by Your standards, becoming more and more like what You would have me to be.
