“If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.”
1 John 1:6 NASB ©

One who professes faith in Jesus and yet continues to live a lifestyle of sin is lying. To “walk” describes one’s manner of life, habits of action. If one “walks in darkness” he is living a lifestyle of sin, consistently practicing sin, living an immoral and impure life, living in defiance to what God has said. That person does not have a genuine faith nor a genuine relationship with God. A person’s faith cannot be divorced or separated from practice. One’s faith will lead to action.

Lord Jesus, I am thankful for the faith relationship I have with You. Help me to live this day showing the trust I have in You and obeying what You have commanded.
