The Upward Look

“And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.”
1 John 1:5 NASB
There is absolutely no darkness whatsoever in God. This thought can be interpreted a number of ways. First, God’s glory and majesty are perfect. Second, God is morally pure and holy. There is absolutely no evil or immorality in Him. Third, God truthfully reveals Himself to us. Fourth, God’s guidance will not lead us astray. Fifth, God has no weakness. He is all powerful. Without God, a person is in darkness. Darkness is ignorant, chaotic, and evil. Darkness is at war against the light. A person is lost in the darkness of sin without Jesus.
Lord Jesus, You are my perfect guide to living in holiness. Help me to walk each day in Your perfect light.
